Hi everyone,
I'm in the process of selecting an HVAC system for a small office space (about 200 square meters) and could use some guidance. The office will have around 20 people working in it, and I want to ensure good air circulation, temperature control, and energy efficiency. I’ve been looking at both ducted and split systems but can’t decide which one would be more suitable....
What are the main things I should consider when making this decision? Are there any particular brands or models that you’d recommend for office environments? Also, how do I ensure the system I choose won’t lead to high maintenance costs down the line?
I would appreciate any suggestions or personal experiences that could help me make an informed choice.
I also read this topic on this site https://morelliair.com/how-to-choose-the-right-hvac-system-for-your-commercial-building-golang but I could not find anything.
Thanks in advance
Best regards,

When choosing an HVAC system for your office, here are the main factors to consider:
Space and Layout: Since your office is around 200 square meters, a ducted system is better if you have a central location for the unit and want consistent airflow throughout. A split system might work well if you have different zones or prefer more flexibility with individual control for various areas.
Energy Efficiency: Look for units with high SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) ratings. Systems from brands like Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, and LG are known for their efficiency and reliability in office environments.
Air Circulation and Comfort: Ensure the system has good airflow capacity and includes filtration for better indoor air quality. Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems are good for larger spaces with varying cooling needs.
Maintenance Costs: To minimize maintenance, choose a reputable brand with good service networks. Regular maintenance, including filter cleaning and system checks, will help keep costs low. Brands like Daikin and Trane are known for reliability and lower maintenance requirements.
It’s also a good idea to consult with an HVAC professional to evaluate your space and provide tailored recommendations.
